The Hankinson Group have reduced their global CO2 emissions by a further 38,654 tonnes, from 2013 to 2014. This was achieved through reduced gas consumption in our premises and reduced fuel emissions from our vehicles.
Information from our tracking system shows that in 2014 almost 1 million miles were travelled by Hankinson vehicles. This is still equivalent to 2 return journeys to the moon, however we would only have made 40 trips around the Earth’s equator last year. The attentive readers will recall that we could have made 41 journeys in 2013.
We have successfully met our target to reduce our cumulative office electricity bills during 2013 and 2014 by 2%. In fact we surpassed this target and actually reduced it by 8%! Well done to all staff who ‘scrapped standby’, didn’t over fill the kettle, unplugged their mobile chargers and a big thanks to the energy saving light sensors. More energy saving technologies will shortly be introduced throughout the Group.
